How to Calculate Your Exact Age in Years, Months and Days
Your age in whole years is easy, but the exact figure in years, months and days needs care, because months have different lengths and leap years add a day.
Step by step
1. Open the Age Calculator. 2. Enter only your date of birth. You do not need to enter your name, phone number or any identity document. 3. Press Calculate. 4. Read the result as years, then the remaining full months, then the remaining days. 5. Check the next birthday date shown below the result.
Why a simple subtraction can be wrong
If you were born on 20 March and today is 10 March, you have not yet completed another full year, even though the year number has changed. The calculator handles that by borrowing days from the previous month and months from the previous year, in the same way you would count by hand. If you were born on 29 February, your birthday in a non-leap year is treated as 28 February by this tool for the next-birthday date, which is a common convention, not a legal rule. For an official form, always use the date and rule that office asks for, and check the result against your own records.
